Tired of dealing with oil leaks from your front inner axle seal? Trail-Gear has remedied that issue by offering our new Trail-Safe™ Nissan Patrol Inner Axle Seal. The Trail Safe™ inner seal lip is totally supported by a garter spring applying constant force over the full 360° circumference. This prevents any deflection gaps and stops oil from bypassing the seal lip.The outer seal lip acts as a secondary seal and keeps debris and other contaminants away from the inner seal lip.

The O.D. of the Trail Safe™ Seal is 100% rubber coated so that it forms a complete static surface seal resulting in zero leaks, and the outer flange prevents the seal from being pushed too far into the axle housing. This is by far the most effective inner axle seal on the market, and will help you keep your favorite trails free of oil.

Trail safe seals have a rubber outer to improve sealing ability this can cause the seal to work its way out of the seal orifice if there is grease or greasy finger marks etc on the outer of the seal when the seal is inserted. Ensure the mating surfaces are spotlessly clean (use brake clean etc) and drive the seal just past flush to ensure correct fitment.

Commonly the cause of:

• Oil leaking from the back of the swivel hub.
• Diff oil washing the grease out of your CV's

The inner axle seal, seals against the axle the prevent ingress of oil from the diff into the swivel housing and CV joint.

If you carry spare CV's and Axles, then you should carry spare seals. As most times when you break a CV the seal will be damaged.

 

 

Always ensure you lightly grease the sealing surface and full length of the axle shaft and support the weight of the axle when inserting to prevent damage to the new seal. Always drive the seal in squarely with a tub or appropriately sized socket or similar.
