This small filter basket is fitted to the fuel inlet of the VE injection pump fitted to the TD42 engines.
Blockage of this filter can cause a loss of power and intermittant flat spots, spluttering and difficulty to rev over 2000rpm under load.
To replace:

Clean all debris dirt and dust from around the top of the pump to prevent ingress.

Remove the large Banjo Bolt on the top of the pump towardthe front of the motor. (Fuel inlet Banjo)

Remove the retaining spring and using a small wire pic or paperclip bent into a hook shape pull the filter basket upward.

Replace the basket filter and spring

Re-fit the banjo bolt
-
Bleed the air fromthe fuel system
